m j Henderson and Batger report having J conducted a most' successful sale for "Mr i Colin Gray, at HighfioUl farm, Wallacetown, on Thursday. There was a large gathering fronii all parts of Southland. The stock were all in good order, and the general arrangements reflected great credit on Mr Gray. A small army of willing assistants supported Mrs Gray in, her arduous task of providing for the assemblage, and the efforts of the ludies were very fully appreciated by all present. Somo of the prices realised were : — Sheep—lSO ewes 28s, 189 do 2}7s W, 159 hoggets 17s 2d. 103 ewes and wethers 2<V_ (id, 4 rams £11 lis. Horses— Bay mare £105,-, do da £50, hay lilly £51, aged mare £■_>.* 10s, gelding £'50, light mare £11 10s, gelding £33, colts £7 and £10. • Cattle— Cows brought, from £9 10s to £8, heifers £7 5s to £4 4s, calves £2 12s. Implements, etc.— These being wellcaredi for brought very full values : d.f. plough £15 10s, Storrie* ridger £18, drill £38, roller £14 10s, dray £12, buggy £25. On behalf of outside vendora they oflered a number of horses, realising £52. for a good mare, £35 10s for a light draught gelding, others from £2*7 to £20. The firm also report having held a successful salo on behalf of Mr A. Cloughley at Woodlands on the 7th inst. Prlceß realised were *«—Horses : Bay maro .£4l, geldings £35 10s to £39 10s, 2 fillies £22. Cattle : 2.1 steers £5 Bs, 8 do £6 ls. 42 mixed 1 2-year-olds £_= 2s, 28 heifers £5 ls, others £o 5s to £3 12s 6d.
