At a mooting of the Provincial Council of the Farmers' Union it was' resolved, in view of the scant support accorded, to abandon the proect of employing veterinary surgeons and that it he left to contiguous districts to arrange jointly for vets. After discussion it was resolved to favour the establishment of the Otdgo Fanners' Union Mutual Insurance Association. Mr (J. L. Stewart resigned the secretaryship as he is removing to Wellington. It was resolved to place on record the Union's high appreciation of his services and Mr J. T. l'rain was elected hi& successor.
