Jn the House of Lords, during the discussion on the question of stationing trotops in South Africa, Lord Hardwicko admitted that, as a procaution, they should reinforce the Indian frontier. The Duke of Devonshire said the troops in India wvro insufficient.
One hundred and thirty thousand receipts show that over two millions sterling has been paid in Orange River Colony for military requirements, •■"'"•'
