Fat Cattle.— lso entered, principally cows and heifers. The demand was keener than usual, and prices higher. Steers, £8 10s to £10 15s ; heifers, £6 7s Gd to £8 10s ; cows, £4 17s Bd to £8 7s 6d. Beef, 27s to 80s per 1001 b.
Fat Sheep.— Large yardings ; a fair proportion prime wethers and good quality ewes, but many of the pens were filled with half fat owes, and for these the demand was poor. Buyers competed keenly for wethers at late rates, but for ewes there was a drop of fully Is per head. Freezing wethers, 16s 3d to 19s Id — extra heavy, to 20s 5d ; best butchers' ewes, 16s to 18s ; medium. 12s (id to 15s (id ; freezing ewes, 11k 3d to 16s 9d : others. 8s 3d to 12s.
Vat Lambs.— 26oo entered. A drop of 9d per head as compared with the previous week was shown. Tegs realised up to 15s 2d : freezers, 9s <>d to -15s Id; butchers', 9s 6d to 14s 3d. , . pjg S , — A small yarding and a weaKeiiing- tendency. Baconers brought from 43s to 57s 6d, equal to.4i-d pei- 1b ,; porkers, 32s to csßs— equal to 5d to 5J d per lb ; stores, 18s to 255: slips, 12s to 16s : weaners, 5s to 10s.
