London Markets. [Per United Pbess Association.] Wellington, Oct. 28. The Agent-General cables, under date London, 27th, as follows:—The mutton market is firm, and the average price to-day for Canterbury is 4Jd; Dunedin, Southland and W.M.E. Co's, 4gd ; other North Island, 41d. The lamb market is quiet, high prices ' restricting business. The average price for canterbury brand is ; other than Canterbury, s:]d. The beef market is dull: N.Z. hinds, sd; fores, 4d. The butter market is dull ; cheese is very firm. Hemp is steady : good fair Wellington, on spot, is worth £35. The cocksfoot seed market is ■ very firm, stocks being light: N.Z., 17 b standard, 635.
