COMMONWEALTH RIFLE MEETING LIBERAL OLD AGE PENSIONS IN N.S.W. McLEAN GOVERNMENT DEFEATED SYDNEY, Nov. 15. An intercolonial conference of permanent heads of the postal departments to consider the federating of the postal systems opened here to-day. The National Rifle Association has arranged a Commonwealth week meeting. The prize money amounts to £350. Premier Lyne's promised clause in the Old Age Pension Bill (pensions for the disabled from 60 years) means an extra expenditure of over .£60,000. The bill passed committee without any important amendment. MELBOURNE, Nov. 15. Sir George Turner's no-confidence motion was carried by 51 to 42 and the House adjourned until Tuesday. Premier McLean has resigned and Sir G. Turner is forming a Ministry. Wool : Competition is very animated and prices good. Merinos and fine crossbreds are 5 per cent better than last week.
