[By Telegraph] Napier, Dec. 31. The Queensland cricketers commenced their match against Hawkes Bay to-day. The local men scored 173, of which Lusk made 51, Gore 42, J. Martin 26, Cato 17 and G. White 19. Queensland have no wickets down for 58—Donahoo 33, Jones 18. Jan. 1. The match was resumed at noon and the visitors made a brilliant stand. . When stumps were drawn for the day their score was 386 for five wickets—Donahoo 34, Jones 85, McGlinchy 35, Hoare 19, McDonald (not out) 90, Cowley (not out) 94. All the local bowling was exhausted.
