Fatal Boating Accident.

(By Telegraph). Wellington, Jan. 1. A botting accident happened near the patent slip, in Evans Bay late this afternoon. Mr William Hazelwood, a sailmaker, who resided at Newtown, was. cruising about in an open boat, and had with him a Mr Wilson and several young children, in . eluding Misses Wilson (3), Webb (-), and Craig, when the boat capsized. Boats at once put off, and though some of those who clung to the overturned boat were rescued, Hazelwood was drowned, also the girl Craig, aged 7. The others were in a much exhausted condition, and are under medical treatment.
