London, May 14,
In the Australians' second innings against Sheffield's team Gregory sacrificed himself to save Trott, who made a cautiously put to* get her score, including eleven 4's. Lilley's wicketkeeping was brilliant. With two hours' batting before them, Grace and Jackson, for the Englishmen, forced the play and were both missed twice. Frequent changes were made in the Australian's fielding which was poor. RaDgiiainhji's play for his 42 was dashing; his score included seven 4's. Jackson (not out for 95) made his score with free all round play, including several uppish cuts.
The Pall Mall Gazette questions the fairness of Jones' delivery of the ball.
