The nineteenth annual exhibition of this society took place yesterday at Wyndham. The weather in the morning was [somewhat showery, but in the afternoon improved greatly, and there was a large attendance of spectators. The show was the best held in the district for many a year. The best entries were in Ayrshire cattle and in light horses. The Hereford and Polled Angus breeds were not represented, and there were very few shorthorns. In sheep, crossbreds and Leicesters were most numerous, but there was only one entry in Lincolns. As usual poultry and swine were poorly exhibited as far as numbers are concerned. In dairy produce the numbers were quite up to the average. This class was shown in Milne’s Hall, at a considerable distance from the ground. The judges remarked on fresh and powdered batter exhibits that all were especially good. The office-bearers; were most assiduous in making the show a success, and Mr James Allan, the secretary, deserves especial mention for his kind assistance in giving every informat ion to press representatives. The amount taken at the gates was a good deal in excess of that taken during late years, and the entries as a whole were considerably more numerous than at last show. A great deal of difficulty was experienced in judging the numerous exhibits in the hack classes, which were a fine lot, and a number of the classes were not judged in time to appear in this issue.
