John Graham's Mistake

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Mr John Graham, of the Dunedin Benevolent Institution, has a complaint against me for saying that paupers had no rights, and should not have a vote. That is what I said, and not "old men in the Homes " as he puts it, of one of which he is an inmate, but not a pauper, as by his own statement he pays for what he gets, and so he cannot be one of those referred to. It ia a case of mistaken identity, and must be dismissed with costs against complainant. Mr John Graham's tobacco is consequently estreated to the Crown for the next three months. — 1 am, &c, The " Commentor ' : Referred to. 19th November.
