LONDON, May 20. Newton, the solicitor who was found guilty of conspiring by inducing witnesses required in connection with the Cleveland street scandal to quit the country, has been sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment. Particulars to hand of the wreck of the steamship Dacca, in the Red Sea, show that she struck on the Dasdalus reef at 6 a. m. She went on the northern face of the reef, ! and Stove in her bows. The steamer floated [ for nearly four hours, thus enabling the emigrants on board to be landed on the reef. They were afterwards conveyed to Suez in the steamer Palacoota, and are now housed there. Before their rescue many of the passengers were standing on the shoal up to their waists in water. The steamer drifted for about a mile before she sank. The officers and crew were rescued by H. M.S.
