Suicide of an Exam.
[By Telegraph.] Auckland, .'une '.. Mr F.-i'd. Alex. Wiitaker, forroerly member for Waipa, committed suicide this evening about half putt five o'clock in the Auckland Clnb by shooting himself througli the head with a revolver. For about a month pa^t be had resided a good deal at the Club, aad for sevoral nights previous to his untimely ond lie slept there. For days lie has been observed to bein an exceedingly despondent state, and on Wednesday aud Thursday tbis waa so marked as to be the subject of conversation amongst his fellow members at the house named. He was sittiug in the board roeai, and shot himself with a six-chambered revolver. The bullet en tered at his |_orehead, and passed through the brain, fracturing the back of the skull.
