LEWIS AND £0, Dee Street, Intebcargill. ge2s SPRING, 1885. TO OUR PATRONS. IT affords us very great pleasure indeed to announce our removal into new premises juat completed, in Dee street, Opposite the Theatre. WE may be pardoned a trifling assumption of pride on this occasion, as we look npon our re-opening as a step in the way of advancement consistent with steady progress, and in accord with the good wishes of our customers, to whom we owe this gratifying result. OURS is the pleasant duty to return thanks for the patronage, an humble ofEeriiig, it is- true ; still we feel sure it will be as generously accepted as it is freely and sincerely given. SMITH AND SMITH. 26th August, 1885. WE now cordially invite our friendß and the public to visit our establishment. We will do our best to please them, in the hope that they will extend their patronage. OUR first lot of early Spring Goods are now to hand. We shall aim at securing the cream of the latest wholesale importations, as we find this plan gives scope for greater variety than if we imported everything direct. WE purpose keeping a small but well-as-sorted stock, constantly renewing it with noveities as they come to hand. WE shall strennoußly keep down expenses, that we may sell with the least possible profit, for ca3h. IT is not generally known that goods of a very inferior class are expressly manufactured for the Colonial trade, and which are not marketable at Home, even amongst the poorer classes. Yet it is so, and these goods are readily disposed of here under the guise of Bankrupt Stock, Clearing Sales, Job Lots, etc., and what is more, they fetch a high price, and are invariably sold for ready money. IT is mistaken ieconoiny to purchase these Gooda at any price, when money is scarce as at present. WE shall take care our customers are supplied with Gooda of sterling ?alue, cheap and useful, but always good. OUR Dressmaking Department will be still under Miss Smith's personal charge, her thor ough practical knowledge and perfection in cut and fit being now generally admitted, Charges extremely moderate. TO Cash Purchasers of Dress Materials to the extent of £1 and upwards, Misb Smith will, if desired, present them with their Pattern cut to a perfect shape. This will greatly -assist country people or those at a distance who do their own dressmaking, or who wish to try it. /"\UB Showroom on the fii6t floor will be in \J charge of a competent Saleswoman and Milliner. In it will be found Ladies' Outfitting, Baby Linen, Hats, Bonnets, Dreeseß, Mantles, <fee, &c. Fancy Gooda, Drapery, Men's Out* fitting, Haberdashery, dsc, on the ground floor.
