I mention this because there is a firm (Steams and Co,) in America who put up an immense number of quack medicine?, called non-secret, which they Bupply to unskilful and Inexperienced Druggists to sell as their own make. In their advertisement they (Steams and Co.) state:— " We print the buyer'a name and address on the labels and wrappers, so 88, to all appearance, the goods are as if he made them himself. 1 ' When Steams was inter viewed in London by the reporter of the »' Chemist and Druggist" (an influential trade* journal), he said :— " I toon began to develop the matter as a commercial enterprise to supply popular medicines oo a similar plan to those druggists throughout the country who lack facilities; experience, or skill to put np such things themselves" Some of these truihful druggists claim for tbese medicines (made in America) that they are made (by them* selves, of course) of the best Drugs from the best recipes, regardless of cost, and that their long experience is a sufficient guarantee that the articles are exactly what they are represented to be, whereas the simple fact is th^c they have no more idea what thestufi is made of th*u a akilfol and long-experienced chimney-sweep, THE PHARMACY, BEE STREET, INVEROAHGILL TJOBERT F.
