Eutertainment at Wyndham.
(FROM OUR OWN COBBESPONDENT.) On Friday evening, Bth inst, the muscial and dramatic entertainment, postponed from the previous week, was held under favorable circumstances. The weather up to that day had been wretched, and many prognosticated a wet evening, but the reverse; was an agreeable surprise. .The attendance was not so good as might have been expected, bat considering the state of the roads and the recent weather, very few felt in a humor for concert going. However, "those; who attended mast have thoroughly appreciated the dramatic performance, •■' To Paris and baok for L 5 " Mr Algie's Mr Samuel Snozzle]was perfect, and his acting would have sustained the reputation of;. one? who ; had followed the stage as a profession. The other characters, were allotted as follows: Misses Spriggins — Mr Alfred Ross ; Fanny — Miss S. Y. Cameron ; Mr Charleß Markham—Mr E. J. Dennehey ; Lieutenant Spike— Mr J. E. Black ; Prince (a detective officer)— Mr H. Sherwiil ; Joseph (a waiter) — Mr C. A. Ross; Superintendent — Mr W. G. Currie ; Telegraph Clerk— Mr B. Sutherland ; News Vendor— Master A. Jones. The farce was well put on the stage, and every credit is due to the managing director. The instrumental and vocal part of the programme was not such a success as that of several concerts held recently ; nevertheless, the entertainment was a good one. I 12th August, 1884.
