Professor Auderson.

i^^^— ■ ■■'■"■■■in This gentleman" "made Ma first appearance in Sloan's Theatre yesterday evening, being assisted by Miss Louise Maude Anderson. There was a large audience, the lower, portion :of the house being filled,, while a "goodly number occupiedthe dress, circle. . At sundry times we have been, favored with visits froth, celebrated rwizards, but the Great "Wizard of .the North, as Professor Anderson designates himself, may fairly claim to surpass them a11. .. Wohave not space to describe many of his wonderful feats — in fact, we could not if we would, so mystified and puzzled •were we, as well as most of his audience — but special mention should be made of a few of the more excellent. A watch and handkerchief, taken from, the audience, were wrapped in a piece of paper, and on the firing o£ a pistol, the handkerchief was found on a chair, and the watch in the smallest of a set of seven boxes, which had been placed in one another. This was followed by the. ten-pound note trick ; the ' crystal suspended indicator, which answered correctly a number of questions ; and the cards of Mephistophdes. The manner in which the Professor, having broken a plate and tied it into a parcel, thereafter brought a rabbit out of it, must be seen to be appreciated. The hat trick was also capitally done, the quantity and variety of the articles in the. hat seeming inexhaustible. On seeds being put into an ordinary flower-pot, enough blossoms were brought forth '.to form a very good flower show. Other noticeable features of the entertainment were the very clever thought reaJing aud mental telegraphy of Mrs AndersoD, while in a mesmeric trance, and blindfolded, respectively ; the answers in every case being correctly given. To the uninitiated, the beheading of a lady, and the Arabian basket feats were most startling performances. A number of living pictures were given by Mrs Anderson, with pleasing fidelity, to the delight of the onlookers. Doubtless, most of those who attendedthe performance last night will need no reminder thatjjie Professor performs again to-night, introducing a number of novelties; but those who were not present we would strongly advise to lose no opportunity of witnessing a really clever and skilful entertainment.
