Consols remain at 102. New Zealand securities are firm at the following quotations: — Five per cent. 10-40 loan, 105$ ; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, lii4, ex div. ; 4} per cent 1879 1904 loan, I)2^. Adelaide wheat has advanced to 49s 6d, ex store ; New Zealand ditto, 44s to 475. Adelaide flour, ex store, has risen to 345. Australian tallow — Best beef, 42s ; best mutton, 43s 6d. The cargo of frozen mett which arrived by the Cuzco on Saturday has been found to be in good condition. Dr Tait, Archbishop of Canterbury, who has beei in failing health for some time past, has suffered a relapse, and his condition is now serious. A Berni-official statement from Berlin announces that M. Giers, Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs, is about to visit Prince Bismarck and tlie Emperor William. His risit is stated to be for the purpose of •ementing the friendship of the Empire, ind has no special objects.
