Seaward Bush Railway.
Te THE EDITOR. Sir, — As an old and constant reader of your journal, permit me to ask you the following question. Do you think it is right for a newspaper which professes to represent " Southland," to confine its attention to that fragment of territory covered by the Seaward Bush ? If you do, thesooner the title of your paper is altered the better. Henceforward it should be known as the Seaward Bash Railway Times. Take a hint from a friend : cease to be so importunate about a work which it is quite evident the present Government does not view with favor, and do not waste jour energies in the pursuit of a phantom. The public has a right to expect better things from you. — I am, &c, Esk Street. 29th August, 1882. [We do not want to quarrel with our friendly correspondent, while we cannot agree with his reasoning, lie might bear with urgency for the St award Bush Railway when it is at the crisis of its fate. If kg regards it as a phantom, we do not, If the Government do°s not view the project with favor, all the more need to show them that their own supporters, as a body, and the people of Invercargill do. — Ed. S. T.] (For remainder of reading matter see fourth page}
