MR. COWAN AT NORTH FOREST HILL.

On Friday evening Mr. Cowan met the electors of North Korest Hill in the schoolhouse, when Mr. M'Kercher was voted to the chair. He male an appeal to the bnnafide settlers of the district to assert iheir influence as against that of the crowd of migratory laborers who had uo permanent stake or any qualification beyond that of temporary residence. After undergoing a lengthened interrogation on various subjects, notably that of Bible-in-Schools, to which his replies were entirely satisfactory to the audience, a hearty vote of confidence, moved by Mr. Cameron and seconded by Mr. John Hamilton, was unanimously carried.
