The Native Difficulty.

[By Telegraph.] Pun'gareiiu, Nov. 27. Everything is very quiet at present. Men were employed yesterday in carting raupo and toi toi into the camp from the pah to build cooking-houses and whares in the new camp, into which they will move early in the week. Hawera, Nov. 26. Tin's morning the chairman of the Town Board, with a number of settlers, waited on Mr. Bryce and presented him with an address, congratulating him and the Government upon the nature of their policy and its success He expressed confidence that the Government would settle all difficulty in the immediate future. Mr. Bryce .said he would forward a formal reply, but meantime thanked them far the address, which was more valuable, because the people presenting it knew the native diffi culty the Government had to deal with, tie declared that law and order should be established on the coast, and throughout the whole colony. Several speeches were made, in replying to which Mr. Bryce said there was one great misapprehension re the charge of treachery to him. He had resigned because he felt his peculiar personal responsibility. Had Major Atkinson been Native Minister no doubt he would have taken the same action as he (Mr. Bryce) did, and had Mr. Bryce been Colonial Treasurer instead of the Native Minister it was very probable lie would not have felt any necessity for resignation.
