[Bt Telegraph.] There are now 45 candidates declared, for the Canterbury electorates. There are s.ill one or tyro more to come. Dc Fisher contests the Gladstone seat against Mr J. H. Satter. Four candidates are now in the field for Waimate. Dv Newman, a candidate for the Foxton seat, addressed a portion of the electors at Pahautanui on Saturday evening. A vote ; of confidence was carried unanimously. Mr F. A. Whitaker addressed his constituents at Hamilton on Saturday night. In his address he referred to the measures passed during the last session as having greatly improved the financial aspect of the colony, and said the policy for the future would be protective and co-opera-tive. A vote of confidence was carried.
