There was great destruction of property. The Northern, from London to Sydney, was completely burned, and is supposed to be lost with all hands off the Snares. A message from the Governor of the Cape requires Cotawazala to disarm, dis--1 ba*bd his army, and cede St. Lucia Bay, and receive a resident at his court. Greek Commissioners have been appointed to rectify the frontier. Yakoob Khan has arrived at Jellalabad. This is regarded as a sign of mission. LONDON, Dec. 25. The San Francisco mails were delivered yesterday. The Wellington Post publishes the following special telegram : — • LONDON, Dec. 27. Yakoob Khan, the new Ameer of Afghanistan, and son of Shcre Ali, has arrived at Jellalabacl, and tendered the submission of himself and people to the British Government.
