Georgo Bailey applied for 120 acrea in block 15, Invercargill Hundred, (on the Bay road near the estuary). McPherson wished to know what had been done with references to his applications for land known as Hospital Reserves in the Taringatura and Oreti districts. The Board, after somo discussion, resolved to refuse the applications altogether, on the grounds that the land hud been legally reserved, and also that, in the opinion of the Board, to sell the land would render less available for sale or other disposal, or injuriously affect in value, the other waste lands of the province. Mr McPherson protested against this decision. DEFEEEED PAYMENTS. Archibald Finlayson requested to be informed if the Board was prepared to issue a license to occupy section 1, Taringatura district, it being deferred payment land applied for by him on the 19th of August last. In reply, the Board resolved, on the motion of Mr Lumsden, that in the event of the Supreme Court not giving its decision in the matter of the legality of reserving land on deferred payments, withiu a month, the license should be issued. TILLAGE SITE. T. MeMatb, on behalf of himself and others, asked tho Board to recommend section 1, block 2, Mabel Hundred, to be reserved as a site for a village. Consideration deferred.
