Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and 00. report for the week ending llth July, 1874, as follows :— - Fat Cattle. — Although 149 head were yarded, and these for the most part of inferior quality, tfhey were all taken by the trade. Our sales consisted of 62 head. We quote prime quality 27s 6d to 30s per 1001 b ; medium, do, 20s. Fat Sheep. — As only a small lot came to hand, prices ruled higher ; 800 cross-breds, of good quality, were penned, and fetched I7s 9d each. "We sold privately 200 merinoes, good quality, at 13b ; 400 crossbreds, for forward delivery, at 4d per lb ; 500 paddock-fed merinoes, delivery end of July, at 3£d. We quote prime half-breds 3d to 3£d per lb ; ditto merinoes, 2|i to 3d. Store Cattle and Store Sheep. — We have no transactions to report. Country Sale. — On Monday, 13th instant, at Maryfield Farm, Flag Swamp, we held a clearing sale of stoGk and farming implements, on account of Mr D. C. Martin. There was a large attendance of buyers, and active competition. Draught mares brought from £67 to £98 j geldings, aged, from £15 to £46 j yearlings, £15 to £44 : dairy cows, £4 to £6 ; implements, satisfactory prices. Horses. — There still exists a good demand for heavy draughts, especially mares. We sold, on account of Bichard Symmons, Esq., a shipment of 30 head heavy draught mares and geldings ex India, from Launceston. The lot commanded great attention, more particularly me mares, and bidding was conseqnently very spirited. The mares brought from £38 to £122, the latter price being paid by Mr David Morehead of Canterbury, for a two-year-old filly from very superior stock. The geldings fetched from £37 to £60. We quote first-class draughts £70 to £90; medium do., £35 to £50 ; good hacks and light harness horses, £20 to £30 ; medium do., £14 to £18 ; light and inferior, £4 to £8. Sheepskins. — Afc our sale on Wednesday there was a good attendance, and all the lots were exceedingly well competed for. The prices obtained; Were as follows : — Butchers' greenskins : Merinoes, 2s 10d to 3s 6d ; cross-brede, 3s 7d to 3s lOd. Dry station skins, Is 6d to 2s 7d, according" to quality.
