This was a neighbors' quarrel about a boundary fence, which resulted in defendant being fined 20s, with costs, £2 13s. Mlntyrev. Garthwaite. — For the plaintiff Mr Wade; the defendant conducted his own case. Another quarrel, oaused principally by an old pair of carriage wheels. Defendant was charged with using abusive and threatening language to plaintiff. Defendant pleaded justification, inasmuch us plaintiff had, without defendant's conBent, removed a pair of wheels from defendant's shop. Both parties claimed the wheels, which however had nothing to do with the case, the question being purely this, Did defendant use threatening and abusive language towards plaintiff ? This was proved in the affirmative. The plaintiff also averred that he feared his life was not safe from the violence of the defendant ; and the whole affair ended in the latter being bound over to keep the peace for six months, to find two sureties of £20 each, and to enter into his own recognizances for £40 ; and also in bsing ordered to pay costs, £2 ss.
