An Offending Sailor

One of the seamen on the Waimate named "Patrick McCormick was haled before the court on Monday afternoon, charged with neglect of duty and assaulting his boatswain. J's.P. Xichol and McClure presided, and after evidence was taken, found the man guilty on both charges, and fined him 10s and costs, or two days' imprisonment for the first offence, and £1 or 7 days for the second.
