Kalf a teaspoonful of sugar will nearly always revive a dying fire.
In cases of fire a wet handkerchief tied over the mouth and nostrils will prevent suffocation.
A fish-bone in the throat will nearly always yield to a raw egg swallowed immediately.
Cramp in the stomach may be removed by a few drops of essence of camphor.
A leakage is a gas-pipe, or even in a water-pipe,' may be temporarily stopped by a thick paste of yellow so a p an d whiting.
A flavouring : Orange peel dried and grated makes a very fine yellow powder that is delicious flavouring for cal<es and puddings.
Stop cracks in walls with plaster of paris, but mix it with vinegar and not with water, as water sets too quickly, while vinegar renders it more pliable.
A Quick' Way : When beating eggs for cakes, etc., add a little milk, and you will find that you are able to beat them in half the time., and that they will be more frothy.
How to Poach Eggs : Take the number of eggs you require, into separate teacups, stand the cups in a. frying pan of boiling water, and let them remain for about ten minutes. Then slip a knife round the egg, and it will come out perfectly free from water, and quite whole.
