THE AMOKURA.
The arrival of 11. AT. training ship ‘Amok.ura in port on Tuesday was an event that caused some excitement, especially among the juvenile population. There are 5-1 boys aboard, including some local lads, and at pre--sent it is the height of every boy’s ambition to be a lad in navy blue. The Amokura is in charge of Commander Hopper, and his staff are Tieut. Wilcox, chief officer ; Mr Mullman, second officer ; Air McPherson, chief engineer ; Air Trimblett, chief steward, and as instructors, Alessrs Morris, Butler, Human, and Power, who are ex-nav a l men of over twelve years’ experience.
The Amokura left on Thursday for Stewart Island, but returns to the Bluff again in a few days. ■ ■ .. ' """ ~
