Windmills, which were thought to have had their day, are now being put to a new use, that of providing a water supply in out of the way places. Lord Spencer has several at work on his Northampton estate, and by their agency two are furnished with water. A windmill only works when there is a wind blowing, but it is surprising how, constantly a wind of sufficient strength will blow to keep it working. -It is found that a mill can be kept at work on an average for over 14 hours a day throughout the year.
