ODDFBLLOWSHIP. The joint anniversaries of the Hearts of Oak, Shamrock, Rose, and Thistle, and St. George Lodges were celebrated by a social and dance in Ashley’s Hall on Thursday evening. There was a very large attendance, almost too great for tbe comfort of the dancers, and the affair was voted one cf the most enj jyable and successful yet held. The members of the Order and visiting brethren were in regalia, and this addition to tbe tasteful dresses of the ladies of the Hearts of Oak Lodge added not a little to the brightness of tbe scene. No fewer than 40 tables were called iu‘o service for the euchre toun arnent, the prizes for which were presented by Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Bro. James Walker. Tbe trophies for the ladies were secured by Misses F. Folley, 1 ; A. Cockcroft, 2; M. Quicke, 3. Gentlemen: —T. Findlay, I ; W. Taylor, 2 ; and J. H. Ge Ides, 3. The presentations were accompanied by a few well-timed remarks from Bro. Walker, wbo was particularly happy in dealing with the victory of that veteran Oddfellow, Bro. Findlay. Ninety couples took part in the first sd. First-class music was discoursed by Mrs Blue and Mr Harvey (violin), and Brother W. Ball was well placed as M.C. Bro. Kingsland and Son ca'ered for the supper, and this department, as well as every other item in the evenieg’s enjoyment, left nothing to be desired. The officials ill worked with a will, Secretary J. Cameron included, and bad their reward in a highly successful gathering. During the evening Mrs Blue delighted the company with two'songs, and Messrs Montgomery and L. Murphy also .contributed to the harmony.
