RYAL BUSH.
A very pleasant time was spent in the hall at Ryal Bush on Friday evening, 16’h, when a church social was given with a view of organising a Bible Class. The ladies took in hand to supply the tea and cakes. The Rev. Mr Burrows of Wallacetown acted as chairman. The musical programme was opened by an overture by the Messrs Blue and Miss Blakie. The Rev. Mr Burrows then made a speech. A trio was given by the Messrs Blue and Mrs Wilson, with an organ accompaniment. Then followed a quartette by our local friends Mr Officer, Mr R. Marshall, Miss Blakie and Miss Officer. Miss Blakie sang ‘ The Last Milestone.’ Mr R. Marshall gave a very good recitation ‘The rich man and the poor man.’ Mr J. Blue sang a solo ‘ No, not one.’ Mrs Wilson contributed Jude’s ‘ Better Land.’ The Rev. Mr Ross, from Forest Hill, addressed the meeting, after which ref; eshments were served. After supp3r another trio was given by the Mess’S Blue and Mrs Wilson— ‘ Will there be any stars ?’ Miss A. Blakie sang ‘ The Children’s Home.’ Another quartette by our local friends followed. The last item was a solo, ‘He shall feed His flock,’ by Miss Blak : e. Votes of thanks were accorded to the ladies for their success in managing the supper, also to the singers, and to Mr T. Mclntosh, who made the tea. The meeting closed with the Benediction.
