THE AVENAL BE REGATTA.
The annual meeting in connection with above was held on Friday evening, and numerously attended. The President, Mr J. 0. McNeilage, occupied the chair, and submitted a highly satisfactory account of receipts and expenditure. The secretary, Mr L. Mitchell, tendered his resignation, and on the motion of Mr B. Bain, a minute was recorded thanking Mr Mitchell for past services. It was decided to hold their regatta on the Bth March, on similar lines to those of last year, and it is to be hoped libera! support will be accorded in the way of donations, etc. Mr McNeilage, who, takes a keen interest in things aquatic, was unanimously re-e'ected as President, and Mr A. Dunlop takes over the duties of secretary and treasurer. The following office-bearers were elected : President —Mr J. C. McNeilage; VicePresidents—Hon, H. Feldwick, M L. 0., and Messrs J. Aspray, Wm Ward, R. Stephens, Jas. Ward, and J. McCurdy* Secretary and Treasurer—Mr A Dunlop Starters —Messrs A. McGavock and R. Stephens Judge—Mr T. Aspray. Referee—Mr O. Joyce. Ha.ndicappers—Messrs J. C. McNeilage. L. Mitchell, and J. W. Watson. Timekeepers — Messrs G-. Munro and T. Roche. General Committee —Messrs G. Mayhew, Alex. McGavock, H. W Campbell, C, Moreton, A. Stewart, B. Bain, J. Wills, H. Dunlop, Jas. Mitchell, H Swinburn, A. Kinnaird. E. Murdoch, W. Bell, and Jas. Smith. Executive Committee —B. Bain, A. Dunlop, H. Dunlop, H. W. Campbell, and C. Moreton.
