ODDFELLOWSHIP.
We note from the Auckland Star of 11th January that Bro. E. Leydon, P.P.G.M., was present at the-half-yearly meeting of the Fountain of Friendship Lodge, L0.0.F.,M.U., and gave an interesting account of lodges he bad visited during his recent stay at Invercargill. They included the recently-formed Hearts of Oak Lodge (female), and he expressed himself delighted with the manner in which, the sisters conducted the business of the lodge. All the offices, even that of permanent secretary, were filled by the sisters themselves, and the attendance on the night in question was some 40 odd. He hoped the time would not be far distant when M.U. female lodges in Auckland district would be an accomplished fact. The JST.Gr. intimated that an opportunity would be given at a subsequent date to diccuss the question as to the advisability of establishing M.U. female lodges. At the meeting Bro. A. Lawrie formerly of the St. George Lodge, Invercargill, was installed as N.G.
