THE WORK TABLE.
A Daisy Design. The use of the daisy in designs for embroidery is always popular. It is easy to work, effective, and can be used in so many different ways. A very pretty design is a diagonal row of daisies, each blossom being the size of a 3hilling, or perhaps a little bigger. . Bach slanting row is done in a different color, the foundation being pale pink ait linen. The first two are in pale green with French knots for the centre done in lilac. French knots are put into each daisy for the middle, and about three or four are sufficient. The thread should be twisted about three times round the needle. Next to the two pale green are four red, with dark blue centres. After these are four yellow with lilac centres, then dark blue with red centres. Lilac with yellow centres and salmon pink with the same shade of green used for the centres as the two first. Another way of using this design would be to make each daisy of a different color. A design like this answers admirably for a cushion or book cover, border of work bag, etc.
