THE WATERWORKS TROUBLE.

At the meeting of the Borough Council on Thursday night a report was read from the Waterworks Committee to the effect that they had considered the charge made by Mr J. W. Glennie against the waterworks engineer, and submitted the letter of Mr Harper and the particulars of the charge of Mr Glennie in writing. The committee were of opinion that the explanation of the engineer was satisfactory, but as there is some friction between these two employees they recommended that Mr Glennie be transferred to another department of the Corporation if arrangements could be made to do so. After discussion, the report was referred back to the committee. A fuller report is crowded out, and will be given next week.
