INVERCARGILL HORSE MARKET.

Messrs J. A. Mitchell and Co. report : We had an entry of 55 horses of all sorts on Saturday. There was a smaller attendance than usual, but those present included several buyers for good useful draughts, and a fair proportion of our entry of that class changed hands by auction, and privately afterwards at satisfactory prices. The best of those sold brought from £4O to £46 ; ordinary, £25 to £35 ; aged and inferior, not inquired for except at low rates. Hacks and light harness horses : Nothing very good forward, £l2 to £ls being the beat price for useful animals ; lighter £7 to £lO, old and weedy, £3 to £5.
