SUPREME COURT SITTINGS.

The Supreme Court sittings opened in Invercargill ' before His Honour Mr Justice Denniston on Tuesday. The following sentences were passed in the criminal cases ; James A. Matheson, stealing, three months’ imprisonment ; Chas. Macandrew, indecent assault, three months’ imprisonment ; Mary Vial, obtaining £7O from the H.Z. Insurance Co. by false pretences, six months’ imprisonment, a nolle prosequi being entered in the ease of alleged arson, and her brother, Roger Meldrum, discharged ; E. Black, incest, six months’ imprisonment.
