The trial of Mrs Smith for the murder of P. Conway on the Talune did not open this week owing to the non-arrival of certain witnesses. Pour witnesses in the case leave Christchurch to-day for Sydney viz,, Conway’s brother, from Dunedin, and B. Smith (chemist) and Misses Nesbett and Lancaster.
