LATE District News

'WAIRIO.

The long spell of perfect spring weather has broken; still we kave no rain to speak of, just an occasional shower. On some of the farms oatsowing is general, and a few lambs are to be seen. Gardening has also gone on apace. A young man, Robert Johnstone, had the misfortune to get his leg broken last Saturday while playing football in the match Nightcaps v. Otautau, and the eldest son of Mr Robert Ronald had his arm broken while playing about his home. Our school has just passed a very satisfactory examination —only three failures. This speaks well for our teaching staff, Mr A. E. Featherstone and Miss McDonald.
