THE NEW HOUSE.
Wednesday’s polling gave the following results: —- Government, 48 seats ; Opposition, 17 ; Left Wing, 3. The election of four native members, and of members for Lyttelton and Rangitikei has still to take place. With these exceptions, tbe new House will be made up as under : Government.—Hon. R. J. Seddon, and Messrs!'Guineas, Meredith, Buddo, Tanner, Collins, McLaughlan, McKab, Hanan, Ward, Gilfedder, Flatman, Bennett, Hall-Jones, Steward, Millar, Duncan, McKenzie, J., Allen, E. G., Arnold, Barclay, Morrison, Carncross, Houston, Thompson, R., McGowan, Kanier, Fowlds, O’Rorke, Palmer, Lawry, Carroll, Smith, Symes, Willis, Fraser, O’Meara, Stevens, Hogg, Hornsby, Field, Fisher, Wilford, Graham, McKenzie, R.. Colvin, Mills, and Russell. Opposition.—Captain Russell, and Messrs Monk, Bollard, Crowther, Massey, Herries. Lang, McGuire, Hutchison, Atkinson, Hardy, Lewis, Rhodes, Allen, J., J. W. Thomson, and Fraser. Left Wing.—Messrs Pirani, J. Hutcheson, and H. G. Ell.
