WILHELMJ’S VIOLIN.
The Stradiuarius violin which Herr Wilhelmj used during a portion of his career as soloist, and particularly in the United States, has been sold to Herr Kupferschmidt, a musician of Chicago. The price paid is said to be £2OOO. Violins, indeed, almost invariably fetch more at sale by private contract than at auction. Ho violin, even those by the great old masters, has, we believe, ever had a bid of anything like £IOOO at auction in Britain,
