BLUFF NOTES.

Mr. H. Ellis, who has been in charge of the fellmongery department at Ocean Beach, was the recipient of a handsome gold Albert

on Friday evening, the presentation being made by Mr J. H. Reed. His fellow-employees also gave him a travelling-bag and a set of razors, presented by Mr Mitchell. Mr Millar, formerly of Myross, has entered on his duties as assistant master of our school. The good weather still continues, and the various contractors for road works are making the most of it, and good progress is being made with a number of the works. On Thursday Mr James Walker, , builder, was nominated for the vacancy, caused by the election of Mr J. H. Reed as mayor, and being the only candidate was declared duly elected.
