Christchurch, June 1 Fat Sheep—Butchers’ lots, especially prime heavy crossbred ewes, sold extremely well and others also almost up to close of sale. Heavy crossbred wethers brought 16s XOd; best freezing wethers, 14s fid to 16s ; secondary sorts, 12s fid to 14s ; light wethers, lie fid to 12s; heavy ewes, 13s to 16s; medium sorts, 10s to 12s fid; others, 7s fid to 9s fid; and inferior, fis fid to 7s; extra prime merino wethers, 14s Id; others fis fid to 8s fid. Fat Cattle. —167 fat cattle were penned. Steers brought L 4 10s to L 7 12s fid ; heifers, L 3 to L 5 fis ; cows, L 3 to L 5 7s fid. Pigs—There was an active demand for fat, while stores showed some improvement. Baconers made 36s to 555, equal to 4d 4£d per lb ; porkers, 20s to 325, equal to 4£d; stores, 14s to 18s.
