Dunedin, Feb. 9.
Fat Cattle—Prices were much easier for all sorts, and medium cattle were very hard to sell. Best bullocks sold up to L 9 ; medium, L 7 to L 7 15s; others up to L 5 15s; cows, up to L 5 10s. Fat Sheep Only a few merinos were offered. The prices were very dull and ranged for wethers fully Cd to Is lower than last week’s quotations ; ewes, Is to 2s lower.
Grain, Wheat: Quotations : Prime milling velvet, -4s to 4s 8d; do Tuscan, 4s 3d to 4s 6d; medium to good milling, 3s LOd to 4s 2d; fowl wheat 3s to 3s 8d (sacks in). Oats : There has been a good in* quiry for seed lines of long Tartarian, Sutherland, Danish, and dun oats, all of which are very scarce. Quotations : Prime milling, 2s Id to 2s 2d ; best feed, 2s to 2s Id; medium. Is lid to Is ll£d; inferior, Is lOd to Is 10£d (sacks extra) Potatoes—Only a medium quantity is coming forward, with the result that prices are keeping up. Best are selling at L 5 10s to L 6 ; medium, L 3 10s to L 4 10s. Chaff—Prices have advanced 5s per ton, prime being worth L 3 15s to L 4; good L 3 10s to L 3 12s 6d ; medium, L 3 5s to L 3 7s 6d.
