POSTAL NOTICE.

MAILS Win. CLOSE AS FOLLOWS:Monday, 20th December. For the United Kingdom and the Continent of Europe (via Brindisi) India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, Aden, Egypt, and the Australian Colonies, per s.s. Wakatipu, at Ipm. Money Orders, Kegistered Letters and Parcels at noon. The English mail of this despatch will be due in London on Ist Peburary. Tuesday, 21st December. For the United Kingdom the Continent of Europe the United States, Canada, Central and South America, the West Indies, via San Francisco, Samoa, and Sandwich Islands, etc., at 3 15 p m. Money Orders and Registered Letters at 2.15 pm. The English mail of this dispatch will be due in London on 26th January CHRISTMAS CARDS. The public are reminded that all cards enclosed in envelopes not entirely open at one end or having the flap of envelope turned in are liable to be charged letter rates on delivery. Note—Mails close at Sydney for Noumea and T rji on sth January. Note —Christmas and New Year’s Day being Post Office holidays, all mails advertised for despatch on these days will be closed at Bpm. on Friday, the 24th and 31st inst. There will be no delivery by letter carriers on either Christmas or New Year’s Day, but, instead, a general delivery will be made over the counter at the Post Office, on Friday 24th and 31st inst., between the hours of 7 and 8 pm. On the 27th (Boxing Day) the Post Office will be open in all its branches from 9 to 10 a.m and the usual dispatch of mails will be made up feo 10 a.m. The suburban receivers will be cleared at 7 a.m. and the town receivers only at 9 a.m. On the 25th and 27th inst., and the Ist prox, the Telegraph office will only be open between the hours of 9 and 10 a.m. and 7 and 8 pm. Telephone Exchange will be open as usual. Owing to suspension of train on Christmas Day, Mails for the Seaward Bush line will close at 6 a.m. on Monday, 27th inst. (Signed) C. A.
