The Home Circle.

IS LIFE WOBIH LIVINS. Is life worth living ? All-important question, And one which each man for himself must solve', JTor round the answer to this vital query Our joys, our hopes, our aims in life revolve. To me there seems to rise another question, And take its place in front of this one e’en, "What is this life, this strange mysterious living ? Before the answer to the first is seen. What is this life ? It is the gift of Heaven, A gift all glorious if it be but used, Alas ! how often by ingrate recipients ’Tis thrown away, despised or abused. What is this life ? A time for education, , A time for training for a higher life, A time for warring ’gainst the powers of evil, ■ A time for joining in a holy strife ; A time for sowing seeds of love and kindness, All thoughtless of the harvest they will yield; A time for strengthening the weaker brother Who labours with us in the world’s great field; ; A time for using all the powers Goi gives us, As faithful stewards of the King of kings, And rendering back to Him the praise and glory The using of our talents sometimes brings. ’Then to the question “ Is this life.;- worth living?” , , There comes one answer, surely only one— X/ife is worth living if we live it rightly, Work is worth doing if ’tis nobly done.
