HOUSEHOLD HINTS.

Spoons and forks in constant use, if rubbed up daily with a leather, will seldom need a special cleaning, while those that have become discoloured, such as egg and mustard

spoons, should be rubbed over with whiting previous to the polishing. A handful of fresh lime added to the water with which bedroom floors are to be washed will not only whiten the boards but also destx-oy any insects in them. Oilcloth cannot be surpassed as a bedroom floor covering. If well fitted and nailed down round the edges and corners there is no possible chance of dust settling beneath, as is often the case with carpets, while small rugs laid down here and there will give the necessary warmth for the feet.
