Dunedin, Nov. 17. Fat Cattle—Sales for best lines were brisk, and prices compare favourably with last week’s. Best bullocks sold at L 7 5s to L 8 17s 6d ; other do, L 5 to L 7 ; best cows and heifers, L 5 10s to L 7 ss; other do, L 4 to L 5 10s. Fat Sheep—Sales opened briskly, and advanced steadily throughout, and may be quoted to Is to Is 6d higher. Best crossbred wethers sold at 14s to 16s; other do. 11s to 13s 9d ; best crossbred ewes, 12s 64 to 14s ; other do, 10s to 12s ; shorn crossbred ewes, 8s 6d to 10s 9d. Grain.—Wheat: Only a very few lines are changing hands, as all the millers hold ample stocks to last them some time. The report of the failure of the wheat crops irt other countries will help to keep the prices up if the vendors can hold on long enough. Prices:—Prime velvet, 4s 6d to 4s 8d; medium to good, 4s to 4s 4d; prime Tuscan, 4s 2d to 4s 6d ; medium, 3s lOd to 4s ; Webb’s Challenge and red sorts, 4s to 4s 54 (sacks in) ; whole fowl wheat, 3s 3d to 3s 6d. Oats : Very few sales are being made, and it seems evident that large stocks will have to be carried forward to next year. Quotations : Prime milling, Is 9d to Is lOd ; good to best feed, Is to Is B£d ; medium, Is 6d to Is 7d (sacks extra). Potatoes.—Tbe supply is still too great for the demand, and anything but prime are almost unsaleable. Best Northern Derwents are selling at 32s 6d to 35?; medium to good, 25s to 30s (sacks in). Chaff—Only a small quantity of prime chaff is coming forward, which can be sold at L 3 5s to L 3 10s ; medium to good is selling at L2 10s to L2 17s 6d (bags extra), but there is very little demand.
