Reports having held a sale of sheepskins, etc., on Monday, when he submitted a large catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Bidding for sheepskins was spirited, best bringing 4s 9d to 5s 2d; medium, 3s 6d to 4s 8d each ; dry, 4d to 5d per lb ; rabbitskins, 2d to Is, according to quality ; hides—fyest bullocks’, 12s to 16s; medium, 10s to 12s ; cow hides. 7s to 10s ; calfskins, Is to Is 6d ; fat, 7s to 8s ; tallow, 10s to 10s 9d ; bones, 2s per cwt. At the Invercargill saleyards on Tuesday I had a large entry of fat cattle. Prices were about on a par with last sale. Following are some of the prices realised—Fat bullocks from £7 15s (top price) to £5 15s fat cows, £7 to £5 7s 6d ; store yearlings, 15s to £1 ; two year olds, £1 10s to £2 ; milch cows, £2 15s to £5. Fat sheep were in better demand. I sold a splendid lot of wethers on account of Mr Andrew Blakie, New River, at 18s 9d (top price) ; others from 16s 8d to 12s 3d ; fat ewes from 10s 61 to 12s lid, and a few sows at £2.
